On August 8, 2016, the second delivery of IHL Executive Healthcare Leadership Program was launched at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in the city of New York. 3. IHL "Fireside Chats Series" Sino - U.S. Physicians Panel: Patient-Centered Care & IHL 10th Anniversary Banquet

On August 10th, 2016, the August session of "IHL Fireside Chats Series" Sino - U.S. Physicians Panel was held at the historical New York Athletic Club in New York City. The panel topic was "Patient-Centered Care". Physician panelists from both China and the U.S. shared the challenges they faced in applying patient-centered paradigm to their practice, and commented on the future trajectory of patient-centered health care in their own country. 1. Message from the President

This has been a great year for IHL. The clinical observerships are thriving and our relationships in China are growing. Our refreshed board is working hard to produce new products designed to improve the quality of care, management and safety in the Chinese healthcare system. All of us here at IHL are looking forward to the roll out of our new management training sessions and to the development of our web content. As wecontinue to work toward these goals, here are a few details of our current and future activities.

2. IHL Fireside Chats” Sino-U.S. Physicians Panel Series

On May 20th, the first session of the IHL “Fireside Chats” Sino-U.S. Physicians Panel Series was launched at Columbia University Medical Center. Physicians from both China and America were invited to discuss about the doctor-patient relationship issue in China. Event attendees include visiting Chinese physicians, Columbia students, and nurses and doctors from hospitals in the greater New York area. IHL is looking forward to holding the discussion on a regular basis to inspire leading minds in health care. (Read more...)

3. IHL 2016 Clinical Observation Program

IHL's clinical observationship program is dedicated to providing Chinese medical practitioners with immersive clinical exposure in US hospitals. In the past year, IHL has welcomed more than a dozen of clinical observers and helped them get with clinical training in a variety of specialties. Collaborating with New York-Presbyterian and Hospital for Sepcial Surgery, we provided valuable training opportunities to physicians from China. IHL is looking forward to expanding the program by making it available to more and more Chinese medical leaders. In addition, IHL will be working on building up a US clinical observation programs information platform, to benefit more perspective clinical observers from China. (Read more...)

4. IHL 2016 Healthcare Management Executive Courses

In the past year, IHL has continued its collaboration with Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, The U.S. Trade and Development Agency, the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and the Global Services Department at New York-Presbyterian Hospital to develop and deliver executive healthcare management courses. The purpose of these courses is to provide insights and tools needed by healthcare leaders in China to devise and test coherent healthcare policy while also providing management tools to improve Chinese healthcare infrastructure. The structure of the new courses is built on the phenomenal success of the 2014 IHL China Healthcare Executive Leadership Training Program held at Columbia University. The next delivery is planned for August 2016 in New York. (Read more...)


5. IHL 2016 Outlooks 

In the year of 2016, IHL is initiating multiple independent projects to expand its impact globally, including but are not limited to:

  • China Landing Project. Setting up IHL representative offices in China, to enhance its connection with local government and institutions, as well as to promote the IHL and its content and programs in China.
  • Content Development Project. Publishing clinical and management content developed by IHL with leading experts in clinical specialties and healthcare management.
